Every business problem is a human one.
Every company knows its balance sheet. Almost none can measure what sits underneath it: how they lead. That used to be a gut feeling. Now you can measure it and manage it.
We believe leadership and culture should be measured and managed with the same seriousness as financial performance. The long-term vision is for a company's cultural alignment to become a standard measure of organizational health — something leaders understand, track, and manage alongside the P&L and balance sheet. Cultural conditions affect communication, trust, accountability, execution, retention, decision-making, etc.
And those things affect business performance. ECB helps make those conditions visible enough to act on.
Culture doesn't move through an organization by memo. It moves through people.
the ecb vision
Today, companies manage financial health through established reporting.
They know their revenue. Their margins. Their cash. Their liabilities.
But the human conditions producing those results — leadership, trust, alignment, communication, accountability — remain largely intangible.
We believe they shouldn’t.
We're building a way to make cultural alignment visible, measurable, and manageable — so leaders can understand what's happening inside the organization before its consequences become another number they have to explain.
why we exist
Is this you?
Companies call us for 1 of 2 reasons.
You've built something real, and it has started to cost more than it should to run. The same problems keep coming back wearing different clothes. Decisions take longer than they used to. There's a layer of the company that isn't carrying what you need it to carry. Meetings end in agreement and nothing moves. You can feel the ceiling. Nothing about it is dramatic, which is part of what makes it hard to name
Or you built something great and somewhere along the way it lost its footing. Good people are leaving, the numbers are slipping, and it doesn't feel like the company you started. You want it back.
Either way, we only work with leaders who are ready to do something about it.
our process
Assess.
We start with your middle managers, the people who see both the leadership team and the front line, and put what they tell us next to what leadership believes. Where those 2 come apart, you have a gap, and that's usually where the performance you're missing has gone.
This is where the gaps close, and it's most of the engagement. We coach the leaders who set the conditions. We sit in the meetings and decisions that keep stalling out and rebuild how they run. And we give your middle managers what they need to get the most out of their teams and to speak up when something is off. How much of each, and in what order, comes out of what the assessment found. We build that plan with your leadership, not for them.
Implement.
By the time we're done, your people are running the measurement themselves. They know how to read it, what to do when something moves, and who owns it. You end up with a company that can see itself clearly and correct without calling anyone.
Sustain.
why work with us
We work differently.
Most leaders have already tried the usual help, whether that was a consultant, a keynote, or a stack of books. We don't point and tell. We come inside, do the work alongside your team, and stay until it holds. We'd rather earn our fee than collect it, so we tie our success to yours and don't call the work done until you can see the results.
our approach
VISION
Make leadership and culture measurable and manageable alongside financial performance.
WHAT
ECB identifies and closes leadership and cultural gaps limiting organizational performance.
WHY
Because human conditions influence business outcomes, yet leaders often don't have visibility into those conditions until their consequences appear elsewhere.
WHO
Purpose-driven companies whose mission is bigger than the bottom line, typically $50M to $500M in revenue.
WHEN
When growth, recurring friction, leadership gaps, succession, key-person dependence, communication breakdown, retention, execution, or a persistent performance ceiling suggest the organization isn't operating as well as it could, or when a great company has lost its way.
WHERE
Inside the organization. ECB gathers perspective across levels and gets close enough to the work to understand what leadership can't see from the executive seat.
HOW
Assessment → alignment findings/score → intervention → measurement → internal capability → exit.
Our Philosophy
A leader today has no shortage of good advice. There is a framework for every challenge and an advisor for every stage of growth, and still the same question keeps surfacing inside strong companies: why does alignment get harder the more successful we become?
The answer is rarely another strategy. Every organization is built, and eventually limited, by the people leading it. Every organization is built, and eventually limited, by the people leading it.
That is a hard thing to act on, because almost everything else that drives a company gets measured and reported, and this part never has. A leader can tell you exactly what their margin did last quarter. Very few can tell you what their leadership did, or how far their own picture of the company sits from the picture their people carry. That distance is where good companies quietly lose ground, and it is the first thing we measure.
So we begin by looking, carefully and on the record. We spend time inside the company. We ask leadership what they believe is true, we ask their people whether it is, and we put the difference in writing. What we find is what we say, even when it is uncomfortable, because no company closes a gap it has been talked out of seeing.
Then we walk with them. Some companies need clarity. Others need courage, or a conversation that has been postponed for years. The work is shaped by what the assessment actually found, which is why no engagement looks like the one before it, and why the plan belongs to the leader rather than to us.
Nobody wants to be poorly led, and no leader wants to be a bad one. When this work is done right, both get what they came for. We believe performance built on pressure has a ceiling and performance built on trust does not. Pressure can carry a quarter. Trust is what holds when the leader is out of the room.
Our measure of success is that a company can carry this without us. We build our exit in from the first day. Companies that are led well make for healthier people, and healthier people make for a healthier world, which is a larger reason to do this work than any engagement fee.
Our founders
Different world. Same question.
One spent a career building a $100 million company.
One spent a career leading people where failure carried extraordinary consequences.
Neither believe the conventional answers are enough. They share the conclusion that elite organizations are built by exceptional people.
